The brewery was founded on a passion for real ale and an ambition to provide the town with top quality locally brewed beer!
We decided to name our brewery after the most historic building in the town, the Chantry chapel and bridge dating back to 1483. Iconic to the area, everyone can easily identify with the bridge and chapel which crosses the River Don and is considered one of the most unique.
Situated in Parkgate, Rotherham the brewery was established in November 2012 and with substantial investment, hard work and dedication has continued to grow from its inception.
Our 20 barrel micro-brewery custom built by German manufactures Moeschle arrived just in time for our first brew of New York Pale, which launched at the New York Stadium beer festival that year. We sold 16 casks on the night, with the same recipe now a firm favourite amongst Chantry drinkers!
Chantry Brewery now has three of the finest real ale venues in South Yorkshire; New York Tavern & Cutlers Arms, Westgate, Rotherham and the Flying Scotsman Tap, Silver Street, Doncaster.
Our pubs aim to combine the best beers and local entertainment around giving patrons an unforgettable night. The Cutlers Arms is also available to hire for functions; please contact the pub directly for more details.
Wentworth Woodhouse – England’s largest privately owned home – has been safeguarded for the future following years of uncertainty and decline. Many thanks to all who helped with this magnificent achievement.
The Chair of the Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust (WWPT), local businesswoman Julie Kenny, said: “This is the culmination of five years very hard work and has been made possible by the support of many different charities, government bodies and individuals, including the Chancellor of the Exchequer. It is great news for the people of Rotherham and for everyone who cares about historic buildings.”
Both pledges and donations are welcome in helping in the great task ahead with the restoration of Wentworth Woodhouse.
Modest sums will show the numbers of people supporting our cause, and large sums will carry us towards our targets.
The National Trust’s fundraising for Seaton Delaval and Tyntesfield showed that small donations can be extremely helpful in demonstrating public support so please pledge or donate even a small sum such as £3.
