Cookies-KHAW

A free app to support Kids Health And Wellbeing

From September 2023 the #TCF will be offering schools the chance to work with the #TCF player/coaches to explore the new version of the Cookies-KHAW app, take part in activities to improve fitness, and understand how, and why, its important to eat healthily.

Trialled with several schools in Rotherham this year, Version 2 is in development, with a series of lesson plans teachers can adapt to their own school and class needs. The TCF also offer a short programme to support mental health, aimed at Y6 pupils to help them prepare for transition.

Careers Infrastructure Programme

How many people does it take to put a rugby match on at Clifton Lane?

For the 43 on the pitch (2 x 15 players, 2 x 5 subs, 1 referee, plus 2 assistant referees) it can take over 80 people for a match day at Rotherham Titans. Many are volunteers, but lots are paid to work in one of the fastest growing businesses in the country.

The TCF can explore the careers available in Sports Infrastructure, from the ones young people will know about; physio, doctor, coach, to those they may never have considered before; analyst, nutritionist, media, groundskeeper, plus all that link more generally to a sports venue; catering, hospitality, events management, finance and legal.

Our programme is interactive, led by the players, and uses their experiences of looking for the ‘Plan B’, alongside the excitement of being lucky enough to be paid to play a sport they love.

Adaptable for all ages from 11-18, it has been trialled in several local schools, and the impact on young people is shown by the fact that every school has invited us back!

Contact Lindsay at tcf@titans-rugby for a chat about how it might work for your school.
