The South Yorkshire RFU are hosting a Touch Rugby Festival on Thursday August 17th in the Rotherham Phoenix training facility on Herringthorpe Playing Fields.
Featuring touch rugby teams from across the county, the festival kicks off at 7pm and involves no contact rugby, played by mixed teams of men and women aged 18 and over.
As well as welcoming spectators, teams and individuals wanting to play are welcome at £1 per head with single players being assigned to teams.
A club spokesperson said, "Touch rugby is fun and great for fitness for all ages and for both men and women.
“Thanks to the training facilities on Herringthorpe Playing Fields, Rotherham Phoenix have been able to expand the age range of those playing with the no-contact element and including women has in turn led to a women's team."
For anybody coming to watch or play in the festival, the club hosts its weekly quiz night after to fund amateur rugby and anybody interested in playing can register by contacting Rotherham Touch Rugby organiser Dave Reid at: firstname.lastname@example.org
