Long standing directors, Martin Jenkinson and Nick Cragg have been recognised for their exceptional work at Rotherham Titans.
Martin and Nick won the Services to Rugby award at the prestigious annual Rugby Union Writers Club lunch at The Oval cricket ground in London.
They were put forward for their efforts over many years at Clifton Lane which saw the club enjoy success in the Championship and then drop down to regional rugby in National Two North before battling back up.
Rotherham Titans’ turn-around was completed when they won National One last season, promoting them to the second tier of English rugby for the first time in eight years.
The two businessmen helped save the club back in 2004 and have supported it with finance and time.
Chairman, Nick Cragg, was unable to attend the lunch so Director of Rugby, Harvey Biljon accepted the award on his behalf alongside Martin Jenkinson, who is the Titans’ CEO.
The awards were presented by rugby legend Shaun Edwards, the current defence coach for the French national team.
Also among the guests were England World Cup winner Lawrence Dallaglio and Welsh rugby legends Gareth Edwards and Ieuan Evans.
